Overview
This is a risk-management based health and safety course relevant to all working environments. It is interactive and informative, covering:
- The foundations of health and safety
- Hazard identification
- The risk assessment process
- Applying the hierarchy of risk control
- Understanding common hazards
- An overview of current legislation
- Accident investigation
- Measuring performance
The methodology for the course includes formal training, relevant videos, group exercises, practical risk assessment, discussions, and real-life case studies. Without exception, feedback on past courses has been extremely positive. From day one of the training, candidates are able to apply their learning to their work activities within their organisations and play their part in making the workplace safer and healthier.
Assessment
Assessment for the course consists of a test paper with a mix of multiple-choice and short-answer questions, as well as a risk assessment assignment. Upon successful completion of both assessments, the candidate will be awarded an IOSH Certificate.
Course Structure
The training is delivered over three days, and you, as an organisation, can choose how you would like it delivered - e.g. one day per week, or over three consecutive days. We will do our best to accommodate your requirements.
